Connect Ritomira MCP: Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT and Codex
For when you want to connect your AI app to Ritomira. This covers the steps for the four apps we have verified, how to check the connection, how permissions work and what to do if it fails.
What you can do after reading
You can add the Ritomira MCP integration to your AI app and approve it, confirm the connection with a read-only request, and decide which permissions to turn on for drafts and scheduling.
Scope & requirements · Features checked Oct 20, 2026
You need a Ritomira Standard plan or higher and an AI app that supports remote MCP. We have verified Claude (desktop and web), Claude Code, ChatGPT and Codex, and have not verified other apps. Depending on your plan or settings in the AI app, you may not be able to add a connection.
On this page
Before you connect
- You need a Ritomira Standard plan or higher.
- You need an AI app that supports remote MCP. We have verified Claude (desktop and web), Claude Code, ChatGPT and Codex. Other apps that support remote MCP may connect with the same URL, but we have not verified them.
- The connection URL is below. If you are asked for a transport, choose HTTP (Streamable HTTP).
https://mcp.ritomira.com/mcp
- Log in to Ritomira with the account that has the X account you want to use connected.
The flow (the same in every app)
- In your app's connection settings, add a new MCP server (connector) and enter the URL above. Setting names vary by app.
- When the connection starts, a Ritomira login page opens in your browser. Log in with your email address or Google.
- On the consent page, check the X account shown and the allowed actions, then approve.
- Return to your app and start by asking it to review your post data.
The connection uses OAuth and no API key is issued. Your X or other social account passwords and tokens are never passed to the AI app.
Steps for each app
Claude (desktop and web)
- Open Connectors in Settings and choose Add custom connector.
- Enter "Ritomira" as the name and the connection URL above, then add it.
- Click Connect on the Ritomira connector. Sign in to Ritomira in the browser, check the X account and the allowed actions, and approve.
Custom connectors may not be available on every Claude plan.
Claude Code
- Run this command in your terminal (to use Ritomira in every project).
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user ritomira https://mcp.ritomira.com/mcp
- Open
/mcpin Claude Code, select ritomira and authenticate. Sign in to Ritomira in the browser and approve. - Once connected, ask something like "Show my Ritomira posts from the last 7 days."
No API key is stored in the settings; Claude Code keeps the authentication token.
ChatGPT
- Open the plugins section in ChatGPT settings, then choose + and add a custom MCP server.
- Enter "Ritomira" as the name, the connection URL above, and OAuth for authentication. Review the warning and continue.
- Sign in to Ritomira in the browser, check the X account and the allowed actions, and approve. Turn on the Ritomira plugin and ask something like "List the social accounts connected to Ritomira." When ChatGPT asks whether to allow Ritomira before using a tool, choose to allow it once or always.
Ritomira is added as a developer-mode app in your own ChatGPT, so the app details show your name as the developer and the review status as DEVELOPMENT. Depending on your ChatGPT plan or workspace settings, adding a custom MCP server may not be available.
Codex
- Run this command in your terminal.
codex mcp add ritomira --url https://mcp.ritomira.com/mcp
- Then run
codex mcp login ritomira, sign in to Ritomira in the browser that opens and approve. - Ask Codex something like "List my Ritomira scheduled posts."
The settings are saved under [mcp_servers.ritomira] in ~/.codex/config.toml.
Check that it works
Start with a request that only reads data. For example:
Show my Ritomira posts from the last 7 days, with impressions and engagement numbers.
If a list of posts comes back, the connection works. Also check that the posts belong to your X account, the same one you saw on the consent page.
Actions and permissions
| Action | When it becomes available |
|---|---|
| Read posts and analytics | Available from the first connection. Theme analysis requires Pro or higher. |
| Create, edit and delete drafts | Turn it on in Ritomira Settings. |
| Create, edit and delete scheduled posts | Turn it on in Ritomira Settings. A new reservation automatically publishes to X at its scheduled time. |
After you turn on drafts or scheduling, reconnect Ritomira in your AI app to use them. The full list of tools is in Help.
If it does not work
- The app reports that a higher plan is required. MCP connections require Standard or higher; theme analysis requires Pro or higher. Check the plan of the Ritomira account you logged in with, and reconnect from your app after changing plans.
- Draft or scheduling actions are unavailable. In Ritomira Settings, check that the actions you want are turned on. After turning them on, reconnect in your AI app.
- The app asks you to authenticate again. Reconnect through your app's MCP settings, log in to Ritomira, then check the X account and the allowed actions and connect again.
Disconnect
You can turn permissions off or disconnect at any time in Ritomira Settings. In Claude Code you can also run claude mcp remove ritomira --scope user, and in Codex codex mcp remove ritomira.
Once you are connected, continue with the flow from analysis to a draft. For what MCP can do, see the MCP integration page.
